Marc Savignac’s cottage north of Sudbury, Ont., has plenty of waterfront, but it’s too shallow for some of the fun stuff his kids wanted to do, such as having a rope swing into the lake. To compensate, he bought a water trampoline, but it didn’t deliver the bounce that it promised. There's nothing quite like the frustration of trying to find a shirt in a dresser drawer packed full of balled up clothes. There's no order, and everything is kind of just shoved in there. After the hustle and bustle of the season, I find myself going into this weird funk. Our home felt like it was going to burst at the seams with all the stuff we had accumulated. I've always thought of my laundry room as the most troublesome room in our house. Not only is it narrow, but all of one side is taken up by a washing machine, sink and toilet. Add to that the fact that there are 2 doors that open inward, and the space starts to feel very small indeed.
We love this 2x4 and 2x6 bed. It's sturdy and cute and easy and inexpensive to make. And we also love it under our matching Camp Loft bed - so you can create a bunk bed with stairs system for shared rooms.
It's finally that time of year when people start to fix up their yards and spend their spare time outside. The grill comes out, the patio furniture emerges, and the neighbors stop by. Which means it's also time to get creative and find some fun things to do out there in the backyard. Here's a collection of our favorite outdoor games that are fun and easy to put together.
Using the right tool will create professional results in your home, especially when it comes to a painting project. But you might be wondering, should you use a roller or a sprayer? What kind of tool will work the best painting around corners?
We're back to share the tiny makeover we did in the tiny bathroom at the Mapleton House. But the scope and the room are the only small things about the project - because we used a bold color that made a big difference. Read on to see our new, blue 'loo.
